Historic NYCT Substation
The CM-1242 NYCT Indefinite Quantity Contract consisted of various capital projects. LHP received Task Orders that included surveying at Willets Point and Jay/Smith Street Stations; signals modernization of the Staten Island Railway, signals operations at East 180th Street and Chambers Street; Interlocking, systems engineering (COUOPS) at the Tiffany Warehouse, and the rehabilitation of three IRT substation enclosures.
The rehabilitation of the three electrical substation enclosures serving the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line in Manhattan and the Pelham Line in the Bronx was the last task order. The Broadway, West 53rd Street Substation, Pelham-Tiffany Street Substation, and the Pelham, St. Ann Avenue Substation received various structural repairs and new finishes. In addition, historic elements at the Broadway, West 53rd Street Substation were restored and/or preserved at the site which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
